God created you and that makes you special.  Nobody else is just like you. God loves you and has a special plan for you. In the Bible, God says, "For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Part of God's plan is for you to ask His Son Jesus into your life to be Lord and Savior to live with Him forever in heaven.

Who lives in heaven?  God and Jesus live in heaven.

What is heaven like?  Heaven is the perfect place. There are no bad things in heaven because God and Jesus live there.

Who lives on earth?  We do.

Is our world perfect?  No. Because of sin our world is not perfect. The Bible says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

What is sin? Sin is disobeying God with a thought or doing something God does not like.

Did you ever do something God didn't like? All of us - you and me - have done bad things according to the Bible verse above.

How does God feel about sin? God doesn't like sin, because sin separates you from God. The Bible says, "But your iniquities {or sins} have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59:2)

Will God allow sin in heaven?  No, because heaven cannot be perfect if sin is there.  Since there is sin in your life you can't go to heaven the way you are.

Does God still love you?  Yes, God loves you very much. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world." (John 3:16) God loves you so much He doesn't want you to be separated from Him. God made a way for your sins to be forgiven. Then you can live with Him in heaven.

The Bible says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Jesus left heaven to come to earth. Jesus took the punishment of your sins by dying on the cross.

The Bible says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Because of our sin we deserve to be separated from God when we die, but Jesus died for us so we can go to heaven.

So, will everyone go to heaven since Jesus died for us?  No. God gave us His gift of eternal life, but it's not enough just to know about it. Each of us has to accept God's gift - and His special plan for your life is for you to receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus, God's Son.

How do you accept God's gift of eternal life?

 Believe

First, you must believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and that He is alive today.  You must also believe that Jesus is the only way for your sins to be forgiven so you can get to heaven. The Bible says, "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12)

 Repent

Second, you must repent. You need to understand that you disobey God and sin. You must turn from your sin - or repent. Tell God you have sinned. Ask God for forgiveness and ask for His help for you to obey and please Him. The Bible says, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." (Acts 3:19)

 Receive

Third, you must receive God's gift by asking Jesus into your life to be your Lord and Savior.

When you invite Jesus into your life, you promise to obey Him in everything you do.  God's gift can be accepted by praying a single prayer.  Then God will forgive you and remove the sin that separated you from Him and Jesus will come to live in you as Lord and Savior.  You will be part of God's family.

The Bible says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13)

Where will you go when you die?  When you die, you will go to heaven to be with Jesus.
